Mongolia

For the first time, i saw cashmere goats and yaks after selling and wearing many beautiful yak scarves.

The trip ended with a visit to a knitting workshop that produces fair trade ecological knitwear from undyed wool of yak , cashmere and camel wool .

Eventhough i didn't get to see any camels on this trip, i am getting ready to make some designs for a few camel wool sweaters for next winter.

Recently in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia

The Muja Ethiopia workshop - very intriguing weaving and pottery.

It was fun to think of some scarf patterns to be woven there - hope to have samples soon.

Bangkok and Hanoi trip

I was in Bangkok and Hanoi recently to make some new items for the shop. It was another A.D.Deertz work and pleasure trips. It was adventurous as usual because I never know what materials I will find and if I'll really return with the confidence of having put together a nice order for the shop.

This was the shortest trip to date, way shorter than the ones before, but I found more amazing materials than usual - great vintage buttons and lots of different Japanese stock fabrics. A small series of shirts, jackets, and pants was made on the spot to my full satisfaction. It's always a pleasure to work with my favorite tailor, Mr. Tuan from Hanoi.

Portuguese factory

This is the cutting room of the jacket factory in Portugal.
I love that something so perfectly made, like the Teak jacket, comes from a place that looks so chaotic on the surface.
